Just wondered who else didn't manage to get an interview for the 3MG Tesco Warehouse. I presume previous warehouse experience would be a major factor in selection, but I believe alot is based on the tick in the box, phsycometric test. Oh well................

My dad got an interview and said the questions where stupid.

For example, 'When was the last time you was upset?' 'What makes you happy?' 'When was the last time you did something good?' etc.

Was told before that, unless you've been sent a letter saying you was unsuccessful, you would still be givin an interview but due to the demand for the jobs the process was slow. I still waiting to hear back from them.

I had my interview yesterday & thought the questions were very apt. The interviewer before told me before the interview started that Tesco are a people company, and the questions are more about getting to what makes person tick rather than what experience of work in warehousing they had. He said they would rather have a warehouse of like minded inexperiened staff who were willing eager to work than load of experienced warehouse workers who wanted to skive. So personality & reaction to things that have happened in their lives are more relevant to Tesco than actual work experience.

Sounds reasonable - most bit firms recruit like this.

Good luck with it, Rick.

Me millitant no way. Just a Idealist Rayvon. I'm actaully a very nice person, if you met me you'd see why.
I just don't have much time for people who think they're Tories. Lets face it unless you've got a couple of hundred thou tucked away somewhere you can't be a Tory you only think you are.
I'm a working class lad with working class values I believe everybody should get a fair crack of the whip & should have an opinion on any issues they fell strongly about. I wouldn't say thats millitant I'd say Idealist.

I disagree with your politics, but wish you the best of luck in getting this job.

I didn't get one but other people I work with not had letters either way. Was a bit miffed not to get an interview if I'm honest considering the number of jobs available. We filled our application forms out seperately but we compared the phsycometric test answers we put and they we near identical so not sure why I have been told no and they have had nothing. We went for the clerical and warehouse jobs.

Apprently those jobs are only available to the ones who worked at the previous plant in Manchester.

I had my drug test with them yesterday and start on the 10th May.

Interesting. I thought they were offered the choice of relocating but isn't this new place bigger so surely there would be more poeple needed because of this, plus I suspect not everyone of them would have taken up the chance to come down here to work. Also why advertise the jobs if there was never any jobs to apply for.

Good luck for the 10th May.

Good luck, Rick.  I have spent a lot of time interviewing people for jobs and the factors you mention do come into it. So does loyalty to the company/undertaking etc. Every company prides itself on its training facilities.
