Interesting. I thought they were offered the choice of relocating but isn't this new place bigger so surely there would be more poeple needed because of this, plus I suspect not everyone of them would have taken up the chance to come down here to work. Also why advertise the jobs if there was never any jobs to apply for.

Good luck for the 10th May.

Not sure how they are doing...just going off what they were telling my uncle the other day. Not sure if it is bigger or not but this one is massive. had a quick glimpse inside the warehouse yesterday and massive compared to others I have worked at.

Thanks mate.

Apprently those jobs are only available to the ones who worked at the previous plant in Manchester.

I had my drug test with them yesterday and start on the 10th May.

Not true, I know 3 people who have been interviewed for clerical posts.

I didn't get one but other people I work with not had letters either way. Was a bit miffed not to get an interview if I'm honest considering the number of jobs available. We filled our application forms out seperately but we compared the phsycometric test answers we put and they we near identical so not sure why I have been told no and they have had nothing. We went for the clerical and warehouse jobs.

Neil if you don't mind me asking When you did your psychometric test did you have any answers that took the middle ground as in the centre column. If you did thats where you & your mates went wrong. Also it depends on when you sent your aplication form back in as to when you get or got an interview. It clearly stated on the accompanying letter with the form interviews will be granted in order of which they were returned.
In the  psychometric you should've had 18 ticks in the left hand coloumn & 7 ticks in the right hand column to get top marks in the test. Any ticks in the centre column will have been regarded as an not an answer they were looking for.
I don't know how the scoring system works but I should imagine 22-25 points would get you an interview in other words put the GREEN pile, 19-21 would be in the possible AMBER pile anything less than 19 would be in the RED pile no interview. So if you put 3or 4 ticks down the middle I'm affraid thats 3 or 4 wrong answers.

Don't mind you asking at all RP. To be honest I cannot recall the pattern of the ticks I put you may well be right I may have put some in the middle column can't say for sure. Just had a baby and pretty tired most days so find it hard to recall things like that at the moment.

My colleague sent her app in the same day as me so I thought maybe she would have heard either way but I heard back last Saturday and she has still had nothing. Hope it's a good sign for her.

Just happy I manage to stay awake in work and get my job done at the moment.  Cheesy

Well done Widnes1. I got the News I wanted to hear today. I have my D&A test on Thursday. So I'll take it the jobs mine. As I have never taken an illegal drug in my life & the last pint I had was when Widnes played Keighley.

They didn't do an Alcohol test on me. Just a drug test. Thought I failed at first and it turned out the machine was broke.

Once you pass the test they give you forms, fill them out and give you a start day.

I hope, Rickp, that you and Widnes1, plus anyone else applying for jobs, do get taken on.

I can empathise with you all as at the age of 51 I was made redundant from my "real" job, however was able to find employment via a variety of full & part time jobs until  reaching the ripe old age of 65. One thing that eased the situation somewhat for me was that my children were through university and in employment.

Drug test is usually a sample in a plastic pot. which should be a Individual sealed kit with every test, theres a stick placed in the sample and it will tell you what drugs you have in your system. Please do not take any Co Codomol based Pain killers as they will show up as a fail.

Good news.  Now you're a wage earner, a taxpayer and a productive member of society, you may want to revise your voting intentions  Smiley
