Good news.  Now you're a wage earner, a taxpayer and a productive member of society, you may want to revise your voting intentions  Smiley

I started on the 24th May and they will be recruiting 700 all together so don't panic! I was told that 5000 applied for the jobs and they are doing staggered start times. 150 already started and another 30+ next week ansd some have already left for various reasons.

First week has been enjoyable in the warehouse but very cold after 7.5 hours! I originally applied for clerical but got told that the office staff transferred from Middleton and Middlewich.

Just Came back from my drugs test. I start on the 17th of May.

Just catching up. Congrats, Rick, and I hope the job turns out well.

My eldest son just got a job today after being out of work for a year. It is in Bradford, but as he lives in Leeds it is close enough. He is now the Director of Projects but still does not vote Tory!!!!!!

As a matter of interest, I'm looking for a change of job - where do you make enquiries?

Cheers - I'll give them a call but might hang fire applying until the next tenants come in - don't fancy working in the cold full time Undecided.

The warehouse jobs are with Tesco's and to be honest the package is good including pension, shares and store discount card. The warehouse is split into three sections ambedient at +12C, chilled at +1C and cold at -20C, but either work in ambedient or chilled! The haulage side is with Stobart drivers.

The shifts are either double days 0700-1500 & 1500-2300 or nights 2300-0700 and all positions are full time.

Craigies6pack believe me it isn't cold once you get going. No matter whether you are the +1 or the +12 you get a sweat on.
Those of you who are thinking of applying I'd advise you to get your skates on because I've heard the selection process will be coming to an end soon. If you go ahead & get an application form remember to get your envelope weighed as it costs more than 1st class to send it back. Also interviews are granted purely on the psychometric test so study the questions carefully as the questions are based on positive & negative answers DO NOT put any of your answers down the centre colomn of the quetionaire. If you do this will be classed as a no score on the totting up. When I say positive & negative its works like this. If the question says I always work in a safe manner the answer will be a lot like me(Possitive). If the qustion says I don't take much notice of safety procedures the answer would be not like me(negative) there is no middle ground when you answer.

All the noise they made in the papers, about most of the jobs going to people from the borough of Halton, was championed as good for the area although the agencies, bless 'em, were sending in mainly foreign workers.

Lets see if they crop up next week explaining how 25 Polish workers were sacked for all having the same National Insurance number.

75% of these jobs went to Halton resdients, so it either suggest we have a large Polish community or the agencies are at fault and are corrupt!
