All the noise they made in the papers, about most of the jobs going to people from the borough of Halton, was championed as good for the area although the agencies, bless 'em, were sending in mainly foreign workers.

Lets see if they crop up next week explaining how 25 Polish workers were sacked for all having the same National Insurance number.

Extremely tizered off if this is true - I was told yesterday by tesco recruitment that they have stopped recruiting for now.

Anybody know if there are likely to be any new openings coming up soon ?

75% of these jobs went to Halton resdients, so it either suggest we have a large Polish community or the agencies are at fault and are corrupt!

Went to an agency in warrington a few months back to find a lot of jobs advertised in polish only - galaxying scandalous that  Angry

Well done to all who have been successful!
Reading through the posts I'm surprised at the requirements of their recruitment process - really strict by the sound of it.

Not sure about the views on being a Tory though - can't you have poor Tories? Wink

Nope

OK, so by your scale would a person thinking he's a Tory with less than £200k in the bank actually be a Lib Dem boy in denial? Wink

Joking aside, I thought the idea of politics being according to wealth was a thing of the past.
(perhaps a post for another day, not hijacking this thread!)

I don't know what you mean by hijacking this thread. I haven't hijacked it in any way what so ever.
I've given advice to peoples queeries good advice it was too. This thread is about my employer as I work at the Tesco warehouse. So I have every right to respond to peoples posts on it.
If you go back through this thread you'll see that I didn't bring subject of politics up in any way shape or form. Somebody asked me. Yes they asked me no-one else whether I would change the way I vote now that I had found gainful employment at Tesco & I answered their question definately not. Then you asked a question & I gave you a one word answer. So if you didn't want your question answered why the hell did you ask it. So if anything its you thats hijacked this thread as you have nothing to do with Tesco whereas other people on the thread are Tesco employees or would like become Tesco employees.

I also work at Tesco's and there are more foreign workers than locals and to be honest it's a disgrace. The promise of jobs for local people was that just a promise to get the grants.

Then the scandal about 25 foreign workers on the same National Insurance number working for the Staffline agency it's a joke!!!!!!!!!!!! To add insult as it gets busier the rumour is they will be agency staff and this is how they operate at the other distribution centres according to the support staff.
