Dare I say it a more true reflection of interest in Rugby League in North Wales. A shared gate so no free tickets and Catalans with no travelling support. The only arguement in their favour is it was on the box so this would have also affected the gate. Expansion  Angry

I think it is very unfair to Crusaders having to give Catalan half the gate money.

Also the splitting the gate seems to affect crowds. Maybe they should do it on the number of tickets you sell.

Tbh its not that bad in my eyes, no doubt catalan only took about 16 fans like they normally do so to get 1,801 home fans for a disappointing game aint that bad

widnes crowds would of been down a lot to if we would of been playing catalan in the cup on tv today, also due to the fact that the football was on. i doubt we would of got many more.

After last weeks game by Crusaders, we checked the nationality of the Crusaders team.

We found that it contained -

1 Welshman
2 Englishmen
2 New Zealanders
1 Papa New Guinyian
and
11 Australians

so much for a Welsh team.

I don't know if it as the same team today but I was very surprised to hear Ray French talking about this "Welsh team".

It's farcical that even the captain of Wales can't get a game for them.

you could say tho, that leeds and wigan were most british players come from often have about 7 overseas players in there team

wigan had 5 last night and that was without amos roberts and harrison hansen and maybe any other overseas players that are out injured.

add phil bailey and cameron phelps to that.

i think leeds have 7 overseas players in there squad.

Correct Wigan have 9 and Leeds 7, the only English players in Wigans first choice backline are Gleeson and Tomkins.  If you think about it Ainscough would be a good shout to play on the wing for England alongside Ryan Hall but he can't get a game ahead of Richards and Roberts.

Considering Noble was GB coach he signed a lot of overseas players at all the clubs he's been at, Bradford, Wigan and now Wrexham.

We got 3,000 v Catalans on telly a few years ago.

And if we had a competitive SL quality squad as Crusaders do I would expect we would get many more.

And the counter argument to that is;

So you got 12OO more in a 'hotbed of RL'--so what.

It was a poor crowd at Wrexham but no matter what the RL say its not a rugby area.  Let us concentrate on our crowds not on farce that is Wrexham.

But they had 13 English players in their 17 against us on Saturday, with a lot of them being local youngsters

But John it is a Rugby league area. As far as I'm any area with a proffessional RL team is a RL area.
Just face facts the support is on the wain. Even the League attendance is on the slide from 10,000 to 4,000.
I wish people wouldn't keep coming on defending them. RL area or not they shouldn't have been allowed to up sticks & move there. So the RFL could save face hoping to get more away support & claim what a successful move it was.
The simple fact is apart from big Derby or big meaningful games RL don't travel in huge numbers, so Crusaders need to build a fan base which they just aren't doing. I reckon they'll struggle to average more than 5,000 for the rest of the season.
And The RFL will end up with egg all over their faces again.
