Just to let everybody know I'm on the move next season! I've called Frank and let him know that I'm leaving to play at Leigh East! It's nothing against Simmies or any of the players but I want a new challenge! I've won everything possible with Simmies and iit's crossed my mind giving up playing, but I've decided a new challenge in the conference and try and get myself in the Easts starting 17. I wish everybody at Simmies all the best for next season and probably see you in a cup semi final!

On another note Iwan has got date for his ankle op in september and will see how that goes, but won't be playing until after the Christmas at the earliest. Whether that'll be for Simmies or anybody else he doesn't know as just wants his ankle to be fixed firstm

All the best mate, and you know you're always welcome back at Simmies if it doesn't work out at Leigh.

All the best Big Man! On your day you can be unstoppable! So take that to Leigh and show the conference how it's done. See you soon for a few beers! Top fella.

hard players to replace but we lost about 10 or 11 top players last year and still had a sucsessful season, i wouldnt worry about us, i think we will be alright and even if we do have a hard season then all i can say is every team goes through tough times, just as long as we stick together through thick and thin then we will get through the hard times just like we have before, as long as we keep the lads we have already got and hopefully add a few new additions, everyone wants simmies to fail but we usually come out on top. good luck to every team in widnes for the long hard season ahead.

Even with the said players gone/ leaving
Simmies are still the team to beat and the benchmark for the rest of the teams in the NWC

They are the bench mark but looking at the players leaving that is some quality, and would be very hard to replace, seeing this i bet hunty goes east too. only leaves randall as there recognised prop!!!!! This happened to us a few years ago and when a cull of very good players leave it becomes hard to replace them,
Intresting times down at Simms Cross.

it's nothing new losing players,it's obviously happened a few times i know of in the last 10 yrs..but somehow without a youth set-up simmies cope very well. i think it attracts more players that would'nt of bothered joining as they did'nt think they would of got in the  1st team without these players leaving.. i just can't beleive the success the club has had without any youth set-up & a lot of  the credit has to go to a select few players who have performed season after season & put simmies & widnes amaturer rugby right up there at the top.. here's just a few memories i recall..1,winning the national cup the hard way.2,playing wigan in the challenge cup & leading 3-0. & 3, i think it was 2004 we went through the lge unbeaten, won lanc cup, prem cup, champions cup, widnes cup & i think leigh miners super cup?.. not bad considering our origins of a pub team.(simms cross pub)
