Are Askam coming from the Cumberland league or the conference leagues? cos the rule of thumb has always been that any conference teams go into div 1

Askam are coming from a regional league Jim.  Think they were in the NWC a few years back though.

Clock were easily the best team we played last year, even better than Leigh MR who had various Conf players in the 2nd team.

Good find that Jim, the division looked great at the end of last season, with 4 Widnes team in should have been a cracker of a season, now we have 2 unexpected trips to Cumbria.  Sad

Think we would definately hold our own in div 1.. Made a few good signings this year with pe hyland, dave lloyd, dave doolz n craig doolz both back aswell as rich o'rourke, sean dawson, paul kirwin playing again put these lads together with mike smith stu harland sean allen adam prendy sean doolz karl o'd then its lookin like a very healthy 2nd team!!

Im not debating that clock are not a very good side but in fairness you lot struggled a bit last year and it is a 2 division step up were they would be playing a much higher quality of rugby at a much faster pace wk in wk out which is were imo i think they would struggle

Not a bad side Mick.  They have a prop who is a top player 'block ed' is his name.  He's does the first 20 then go's off until HT.  Thier loose is a workhorse too.  Loves tackling!
