Got an answer back today and he was most helpful.  Basically the club are happy to have fans bring along flags and such like to games, as he feels this will add some much needed atmosphere and give the team a lift.  Has no problems at all with flags being displayed in either 'closed' end, or even when stands arent full in unpopulated parts.  Naturally we would need to respect sponsers brading and such like as they pay a lot of money for it.  He advised that each stand has 2 head stewards who you could ask to speak to, or a 'normal' steward who you would need to ask with plenty of time before kick off if you wish to display them in empty stands.  If you wish to have them in populated stands naturally you have to consider emergency exits and you must head any advice the stewards give and not argue.

On the whole he was very enthusiastic about this idea and hopes that this does go ahead if people wish to bring along their own or even like has been suggested a larger communal one.

If you ned to know anymore then please ask and I will try my best to find out.

Cheers

Good work!

For anyone who is interested

I have a quote back from the Widnes Live Forever flag.

I am still waiting on the Myler one. I will post details of both when I get the the confirmation on the Myler one.

Others who may be interested in chipping in are most welcome.

Out of interest how many current flags do we have knocking around? As I reckon if we stick some in the stands from Sunday then momentum will build as people will want to add there's etc.

Right

For those who contacted me by PM I've had a quote back for the Myler Flag. Due to the complex design I've been quoted £30 a square metre!!!

I haven't had a chance to query the quote etc but I will be sourcing others.

Just to let you know I am on to it and its not been forgotten.

Maybe you could set up some kind of PayPal link that we could post on here, then anyone wanting to help out with the cost of getting the flag made up could make a donation...

If it is a successful means of doing this then maybe it could be the start of a series of "legands" flags, paid for by the fans, and displayed proudly in the Stobart every game.

But how many square metres is the flag?

If the flag isnt a great big thing, making a major impact when the teams come out like the ones that get passed over heads in the Kop at Anfield, then whats the use of it? Im not trying to be unfair on those who are keen, but to be honest if its less than about 40 feet high, by 50 or 60 feet wide, then its totally pointless isnt it?

Nobody will take a blind bit of notice of a few small flags propped up in an empty stand at the end of the ground....

Ok, Perhaps 40ft x 50ft was a little exaggerated but those ones at Anfield must be at LEAST 30ft square musn't they?
