Was driving back to the Bridge from Mums today and remembering how the whole town would deck out in black and white, crepe paper rosettes and garlands in the shop windows and felt a bit sad til I saw the building at the top of Kingsway by the lights - is it Widnes Fellowship Society or something and they had a window display saying "Good Luck Widnes Vikings"

Anyone else noticed anything else?

Sorting it out later, getting some black and white on display with a bit of luck. Dad has rosette from 93 final, might be sporting that for final, despite the lack of relevance! Grin Roll Eyes

The Fellowship Centre have always done that and it is always good to see. You know, that place has been there as long as I can remember but I don't actually know what it is! Am I right to guess it is a day centre?

Well done to them, keeping the spirit alive!

Not having lived in the town for a long long time I guess we're talking about the old Kingsway CO-OP store?

Hi to all those who have posted the widnes fellowship centre we open two evenings a week for people with special needs
to get together and socialise play games and so on.  There is a lot of Widnes supporters that attend the centre and enjoy discussing the games and players they like.

It is me that deals with decorating the windows im a big fan myself and as i work at the stadium on match days as a first aider im only too honoured to show support
for our boys

You are showing your age Pen vik. It has not been the co-op for 30 years plus. Your post reminded me of my mum sending me up Kingsway with a shopping bag to get groceries in late 1950's from the co-op. Luckily it was down hill on the way back.

the good old days when children were sent shopping with a list alone.
