Snooker legend Alex Higgins has died aged 61 after a long battle with cancer.
One of the true sporting greats of our time, who like many others with a genius in sport really failed to be able to handle life outside of sport
RIP Alex

The term legend is often used lightly - not for Alex Higgins it aint!
One of the founder members of the flawed genius club.
RIP Hurricane.

Snooker wouldn't be where it is today without this flawed genius. No one like him before or since. R.I.P Sandy

Apparently been dead for days before being discovered. Tragic and another warning to Gazza.....where were HIS friends and hangers on when he had nothing?

Recent pictures were quite shocking, as were stories of him playing games in pubs to win the prize of a pint.
The success of televised snooker owes a hell of a lot to him.

R.I.P. Alex
A very sad & tragic end for a sporting legend like him, but sadly, a downfall that was very much self-inflicted.....a crying shame.
