doesnt surprise me one bit !!!! if they field the same team or near to the same team as they did against Hull Kr last week ,as I know their academy is full of injuries (and some pretty serious ones at that) at the moment, they will be in for a tough time against our lot on Sunday  Smiley

Never nice to hear of some serious injuries in rugby league, but always seems worse when it involves younger lads.

They have some good under 16s and the potential to drop players back who may have stepped up to their Under 20's team, so I wouldn't count my chickens just yet. I assume we will also be missing Danny Craven and Tom Kelly who both put in good performances against Halifax.

No chickens counted Myles , thats why I stated the same team or as near as they can to the one which took to the field against Hull KR  Wink and I think Craven has travelled to Toulouse , not sure about Tom

My son has told me that tom kelly is playing u18's against saints, and top try scorer josh crawley has come back from illness to play centre/second row.
He also told me that tom kelly, danny craven and josh crawley have recently signed 2yr first team contracts.
Forgive me if im not 100 % on this  but my son is mates with some of the under 18's and thats what hes been told.
I think that this is great news for widnes, and can see these lads doing well next season.....
Just a pity that nothing has been put up on the "official website" as these lads deserve the same praise as the recently signed under 16's.

But then again, nothing unusual for widnes......

A good post.........then there is the last line.  Nothing unusual in someone having a dig at the club.

The U16's signed their contracts some time ago AFTER completing their set of games.  The club then announced later that the players had been signed and photos have appeared this week.

The U18's have really done well but there are still games left--the last one being at Hull KR on 18 Sept--and there is still time for someone to make a name for themselves.  I presume that the club will wait till all the games are finished to announce who has been signed--which IMO is the right thing to do.

The majority of the 16's that signed last year ,10 or 11 of them i think all signed 3yr contracts...so thers no pressure on them, then to just go out and play gr8 rugby which they have done all year.Add to that the mixture of the new and talented bunch wev'e just signed + the last year 18's :craven etc......the futures indeed looking good for us in this department.

IMO its not the right thing to do, thats why i made the comments.

when clubs sign any player to first grade, they always announce it..
when pickersgill, or loan players came to the club did they have to make a name for themselves before it went on the site ??

Please tell me, why would they wait until the games were finished ?

if they dont play 100% will they be released from their contracts ?

Cant understand were your coming from argueing about an innocent post. When the official website is always the last place to look if you want info on u 18's match fixtures, reports ect ....
There are enough people posting on here about the lack of info on the website.
They dont have player profiles for the 18's like all the other clubs, which is not the end of the world. But when you click on the reserves it doesnt even name the team.....

I take great interest in the reserves and u18's, watching as many matches as i can. Its just anoyying when to find out information you have to go to other clubs websites to find things out, read match reports etc..

Sorry if this upsets you mate, but im only being honest...

I'm in total agreement with this post how can you follow player performance if you dont know who they are, when the games are and what position they have with the club eg signed or not. I like to turn up for the odd home game ( reserves or 18s ) and only for this guy sammo posting the time date and venue I probably would'nt go. I suppose I could waite until october when the season is over as sugested for the club to post.
