Don't judge the season by the first team results on the pitch.
2 reasons
1) You'll get severe depression
2) The bigger picture is what matters - and that is good.
The only trouble is I feel like the rest of RL judge us on this.
If you were a fan of a club under threat ie. Cas Wakefield Salford Welsh cheating
bounties
, what would you say.

I'd be saying, i hope we can get some money from somwhere, and start building a ground before March, becuse if we dont, we're going down. Apart from the Wrexham Crusaders, who they wont chuck out, because they have got all those fans in South Wales coming to watch them now.

Unfortunately times like these call for us to do whatever is necessary to get to the promised land. In the long run this frustration and misery will pay dividends. The youngsters in the side will learn some very hard lessons from this season which will benefit them in seasons to come.

SOC really needs to make some difficult choices if he wants the club to go forward, I feel like we have taken 3 steps back this season.
The Club is going forward. Just look for example at Danny Craven's performance last night. True Fax did have a youngster out there - Michael Ostick - where did he come from?

But, on the other hand, how many times have I spent around 17% of my weekly wage for me, and my family, to go the match only to be told that the results dont really matter when we suffer another disappointing defeat against sides we are more than capable of beating?

Talking about what the Sky commentators were saying about Widnes, did anyone pick up the patronising way that they they built the game as if it was the mighty Halifax against lowly and weak Widnes. We were almost being protected with loads of references to problems we have had, and quite honestly Bill Aurtur (who seems to love Halifax) was talking like he was amazed that we had managed to keep the scores level at halftime.
I don't mean this a dig at the commentators, more to highlight the fact that of how far we have fallen in recent times. Just a few years ago, it would have been mighty Widnes against plucky teams like Dewsbury or Batley etc. These days it appears we are the ones now who aren't expected to compete with the big boys and when we do its seen as an achievement just to score a few points against Halifax, Barrow etc. Even quite recently, coaches like Stankevich, McCormack and Cullen, have made the excuse that we are the team to beat and how everyone raises their game to play against Widnes. Beating Widnes these days is pretty much a realistic aim for any team in the division - well maybe not Whitehaven, but you get the picture.

The salary cap makes it easier for teams like Batley,Keighley, and anyone in this league. On a selfish point of view i would like it to be £500,000 so we could buy some decent players, rather than dual players. So it is about boxes and the Rfl have made it this way.As Cullen stated a few weeks back, the u18s was a more important game than the Northern Rail final. This sums up the farce of the franchise system. To be honest i dont care how we get into Superleague, and i think next year some players will be gone because they are

No they won't, they'd be thinking "why are we getting turfed out for a bottom half Championship team"... particularly when you consider that Crusaders, Castleford and Wakefield have all got a realistic chance of reaching the play-offs.

If the salary cap was raised to £500,000 it would be wrong to assume that SOC would spend up to it.
In terms of licences, from the Championship, only Leigh are serious contenders to ourselves. We both have excellent stadiums, both are 'okay' financially, both have youth development in place - though ours is far superior. They are yet to tick a box - but could easily do so by being in the grand final, and they are the second best supported club in the league (I think) behind ourselves. Featherstone's application will fall down on attendances and youth development, Barrow's on stadium facilities, attendances and youth development, Halifax's on youth development, attendances and their financial position. Who knows what the RFL have in store for us regarding Toulouse? If Leigh win the Grand Final and we don't qualify for the finals, Leigh's bid might just nudge ahead of ours. Only they, IMHO, have a bid that can compete with ours in any way shape or form. #and even if they do win the GF, I still think their overall bid will be less convincing than ours.

With 2 out of those 3 turning out over 50% of their squad on overseas players paid for by SL money and massive losses. Even then it is a Mickey Mouse top 8 in a 14 team comp.

I would say one of those turns out nearer90% of their team as overseas, last match I think there were only Jordan James and Lupton that weren't overseas/kolpak/non-federation trained
