Why would we want a play-off place? The sooner this season is put out of its misery, the better.

How low have we sunk when we are desperate for a bonus point, to get us into a play off place, where we will get knocked out at the first hurdle? IMO
Regardless of how low we have sunk, we were gifted a point on a plate, and should have took it. So what if we don't agree with the rules, I can't imagine Sheffield/Toulouse/Batley will be moaning if they get a bonus point in any of their games, which could prove all the difference.

A very good point. I personally thought there were quite a lot of positives to be taken from tonights performance, but when agame is lost, then any bonus point is a plus and that decision was imo bordering on the criminal. I am hopeful of getting to the playoffs, but to throw away a gauranteed point could even make the difference between a home or away match. In the short term, it certainly made the difference between 6th and 7th place in the table.

Maybe you think this way, but the majority of the rest of the fans don't.

Can't agree with that one Sunny. I can't wait for the season to be over and I can't believe I'm saying that. But it is so painful watching now and see such poor team and individual performances with little hope of improvement at the moment. Yes there are bright spots Craven, Thacks most games, Doran on the whole but these bright spots are far outweighed by the lows 33% home win record, whole performance against Batley at home, losing the NRC in the last mins, Leigh last week, Toulouse, no kicking game etc. etc.
I would defo put money on more fans being happy to be put out of our misery that extending it any longer.
Don't get me wrong I would love to make the play offs and have a good run in them, but in all honesty if with people coming back from injury I've not seen anything to suggest we could win the first game on the play-offs away from home. In fact I could not see us even competing if we have to go to Leigh, Fax or Barrow to progress and they may be the three on the trot we would have to go to and win to make the semi & Final.

In cup/knock-out football anything can happen. Our league form is garbage but we got to the NRC final and lost by one point. Getting to the play-offs at least gives us a chance of a GF place. Also, despite it not being a specific licence criteria, not being in the play-offs will not help our SL bid IMHO. Being in the play-offs will not do us any harm. Smith was well out of order to ignore the coaching staff and throwing away the chance of a bonus point. If we miss out on the play-offs by one point then Smithy, despite his commitment to the club overall, will have a lot to answer for.

Sadly I agree. If we could do what Featherstone did last year and win two away before going out in the semi final then that would salvage something from a disatrous year but I don't think the team have it in them.A few weeks ago we had reasons to be cheerful. After a close defeat at Featherstone we then trounced Keighley to make the Northern Rail Cup Final and had injured players returning. There was optimism there, light at the end of the tunnel.I thought we would win the Final and go on to have a big say in the league and play offs.Sadly,it wasn't to be.The players and/or coaching staff have come up short.

Two honest opinions - we don't agree on this particular point but I really want to see us in the play-offs even if we lose in the first game!

To be honest I have just been asking Alex Murphy why the hell did warrington not kick the 2 penalties they had? Its easier said and seen in the stands than that of the players view and determination on the field!

Why should he?
What a bizarre over reaction from most people. I personally don't know why people are getting so worked up over this season full stop. We have a load of kids who will be surplus to requirements when we are accepted into SL. Would we be playing all the kids if we needed to win GF to get promoted? No. Would we have spent more money on a better squad? Yes. The fact is, last season, this season and next season are completely and utterly pointless. Regardless of how naive you may well be, you still know the facts and the state of play. It baffles me. Don't give tripe about pride and such like and "you pay your money"...you pay your money knowing the full facts!!
