They wont though as you failed more than 2 fixtures so could possibly be relegated if the league follow their rules.

The meeting is on the 9th Aug, just had confirmation from NWC

6.7 Any teams failing to fulfil a fixture in the premier division, more than one fixture in divisions one
and two, or more than two in any other division, will be automatically relegated irrespective of
League placing unless that team was due for promotion, in which case it will remain in the same
division the following season. The next highest placed team will be promoted.

With Moorfield dropping out Widnes St Maries would have been in a promotion place. Therefore they should remain in Div 2 under this rule.

But Moorfield dropped out of the Prem not Division 1

Which means 1 extra team goes up from Div 1 which means that 1 extra team moves up from Div 2 etc.

which also answers shimmys post.

Out if interest. Seeing that Golborne, Burtonwood and St Maries from div2 failed more than 2 fixtures, who gets automatically relegated? As your seconds John where not in the automatic promotion place.

Maybe so, if the leagues numbers are kept the same.

I dont wish to see the Maries relegated im simply querying the rule so take it easy on the BOLD mate  Wink

Rules are made to broken particularly when it comes to rugby league (NWC RFL etc etc) but it would be daft to relegate the maries given that 3 teams have already left division 2.  They would have to either relegate another from div 1 (which would leave them short) or promote another from Div 3 (which would mean Dalton and Spring View who finished 3rd/4th move into D2) but there are also whispers that Askam will be automatically placed in Div 2.  I have also heard on the grapevine that Clock Face are going into the Prem to take Moorfield's place (which would make the sorting out a lot easier!) and that Leigh Miners A dont want to move up due to player numbers/inexperience.

Should be a fun meeting next week - is there any nearby hotels for you to stay over?!

Think clock face would really struggle in the prem and dont agree with this jumping divisions or turning down promotion. would it not be easier to promote 3rd place from div 1 [leigh east] i think or just relegate 1 from the prem an maries go up. I know they gave up games but would certainly hold there own in div1.

Clock would definately go well in the prem and I think the maries a would struggle in div 1 due to numbers as per the problems last year.

Clock would defo go well in the Prem they are a tough outfit particularly at home.
As for the Maries going to the prem - im not saying they arent good enough - the side they played against the swan early last season would give any side a game but im sure K8UCK will agree if the firsts get a few injuries down the way they end up getting severely weakened.
