There are presumably no takers which must call into question the real financial state of the club. They are, to all intents and purposes, broke. and the RFL need to address that situation.
As Barry Mac says there are players who don't know what is happening to their futures. Action is needed to resolve the club sitation in the first place, then the future of a team in London at SL level.
Action fairly soon could resolve the situation of number of teams in the SL next year as discussed. The RFL could, and probably should, throw their weight behind the Skolars to cash in on the massive off the field effort that has built up the non-professional game in the South, much as they have done in Bridgend.

Being honest, who in their right mind would buy 65% of a business which is insolvent by £6.5M, needs about £2M of loans from its owners each year to survive, plus no doubt Ian Leneghan would want his £2M loan repaid as part of the sale agreement.
Effectively, a buyer would need to pay out about £4M in the first year to own a business which doesn't have a viable financial future under current conditions, has no guarantee of being offered a franchise for 2012 and would have no prospects of being able to recover the money in future with a massive deficit on its balance sheet.
There's a saying about getting what you pay for, but in this case, all you seem to get is nothing for £4M.

This is a major part of the problem.
David Hughes is providing all the additional income whilst owning only 35% of the Club.
Martyn Sadler (LEX) is arguing the RFL should buy Legnahans stake is an alternative buyer cannot be found.
Lenaghan was given 2 years (after buying Wigan) to sell his stake and has so far failed to do so.
Interesting that puppet Sadler didn't argue that when Doncaster, Keighley or Rochdale were close to going to the wall.

Or when we went under in 2007. No help offered to us but the RFL will break the bank to support London and Celtic.

He is the worst sports columnist I've ever read. The king of contradiction.

there's a bit of a hoo haa going on over on thier rlfans board, with the usual tripe like because it costs more down there then they should get a bigger cap or the rfl to bail them out (where have we seen that before?
).
if they fail, they fail. they've had 30 years to get it right. why should they get bailed out again due to their own deficiencies?

Reading it , it would appear that some of their fans want the RFL to pay for them , after all they bring so much to the competition apparently

They were bailede out before, at our expense as it turned out. Time for a retrenchment IMHO. Develop the Skolars at their level to retaina focus in the south for all the developmentclubs there and see how that goes.
I don't think that the Southern scene should be left deserted.
In much the same way I think that the RFL should be trying to develop the game on a wider scene in France rather than concentrating on a couple of SL entrants. The game has a future in both areas but it needs to be nurtured from the roots up rather than forced from the top!

Simple! If you want something to grow you water the roots, not the showy bit at the top. But remember the RFL Motto "Us do it reet in Yorkshire."

Are people stupid or what. "They've got so money, so let's give them a bigger salary cap so they spend even more money they've not got"

that they are, and they can spend more of what they haven't got - and owe the tax man a fairly hefty wedge..........again, although they may seem to owe them again anyways

Daft isn't it some RL 'fans' basically think we should just sign Quins the entire Aussie national side and all chip in to pay them, then they'd be happy!
If they were struggling to keep players on the cap as it's high living expenses they'd have a point but the fact is they are letting expereinced pro's go and atm replacing them with cast off's, loans and Championship players!

Why should the RFL "HELP" Fulham/London/Harlequins AGAIN.

Yes, Why?
Why do they not enforce their own rules about ownership, too?

If they are in such dire financial straits can we expect a points deduction for next season?
