Regarding the banner

Version - Asterix version is much better.

Artwork - What needs to be done regarding the artwork, not sure when VOH is back but he could possibly help?

Donations - If you like \i am sure we could use the TIW paypal account?

Delivery - What is the leadtime? Where are they based? I could collect and take up to Barrow?

I'm about half way done with my banner, I've sketched 'Smithy' onto the fabric, just need to paint it and add the lettering.

Can get 10` x 3` Banner done for £75, With Bank holiday and stuff I have on it wont be for Barrow game (Risky, in case we get beat)

BarryJohn, Cheers. All is well so far  Wink

Ok, Anyone any further on with banner for Smithy? I can now do this in 9`x3` and cost is £60. I understand its pointless ordering today incase we do a leigh and get beat. So if no other offers I can potentially proceed with this one I need list of names willing to chip in, I obviously dont need 50 people at £5 a pop as we then have surplus money. So the only way to do it is list of names, We then get 36 people interested and it becomes £1.66 each (for example). I will only do this with people paying into my paypal though and the reason being Im not chasing people at the game for £2 so between now and Sunday we need numbers. As my donation I will swallow any paypal fees on each donation.

Other question is who signs it, Just the people that have paid? How do we police that? Im going to need someone to take control on matchday to get it signed, I obvioulsy will be busy taking pics etc. The volunteer can also be the lucky blighter to hand it to Mark.

So to recap, 1. I need numbers willing to chip in and 2. a volunteer to take control come next weekend (Fingers crossed)

Are we doing "Goodbye Lee Doran" flags or pencil cases?  Poor sod isn't get much love from us is he?

The banners looks great by the way - just being facetious at the end of another long day.  Sorry.

I think it would be hard to limit the signings just to people who had paid.  Not all Widnes fans come on here so would be unaware of it.

You could say on the day that its £1.50 to sign (for example) and that money goes to Smith himself - its his 10 year testimonial next season and he now won't be celebrating it with us, so it could be Widnes fans way of contributing to that.  Just a thought.

I don't mind helping on the day collecting money or whatever needs doing, but I'm not bothered about passing the flag over - my player stalking days are long gone  Cheesy

Who's decided that? I thought testimonials were only awarded by clubs if a player had been there for 10 years, not just for playing at various clubs for a 10 year period
Logged

No they're not. The current gold price is £28767 per kilo. If you take an average SL centre, say George Carmont, 91 kilos, that works out at  £2,617,797. No-ones worth that

I believe that a Benefit can be awarded to a player if he has played a certain number of games for one club.
