Love him or loathe him it was a Briers masterclass and an awesome defence.

Mathers deserves some plaudits too, for holding up bigger guys than him on one or more occasion. Shame that Tony Smith has decided to go back on Warrington's recent policy, and is chopping Mathers for a 34-year-old Aussie.

A backwards step. I thought Mathers had a great game and I still can't see why the Wire wanted someone else at full back.

The worst fighting I have ever seen inside Wembley.

At the Warrington end, top of the lower level in the corner.  Stewards must have escorted many out as there was loads of empty seats after the fracas

Same here. Right brawl it was, about 15 involved. I can only assume that a few of them if not all weren't Warrington fans. Go and watch football next time please.

They must have turned the efects mikes down !

First few minutes was loud enough to stop us having a conversation 50+ metres away, shame if that didn't come across on the tv.

Funny that the program had a think about westwood having started kicking and how he was fourth choice kicker at the start of the season.

Certainly does, great technique taking the man and ball which was trapped between the both players. He did it on a couple of occasions if not three times!

Do you really think so? I thought he had a decent game but IMO Mathers, King and Hicks were far better than Briers, plus I can't stand the way he 'lords' it now he's playing in a good side, how many years has he gone hiding when it got tough playing in an average side?

Was there crowd trouble? On the T.V. there seemed to be a lot of booing for no particular reason at one point and people in the stands looking behind them.
Why you happy for your mum?
Seeing as it was a sell out there were plenty of empty seats Huh Must have had the Halifax gateman counting the tickets Grin

Their was trouble in both corners of the Warrington End at different times.
In our corner which was the smaller incident it was Leeds fans being escorted out.
Impression I got was that they couldn't take losing.

Wasn't it one of Briers's long cut out passes that led to one of Hicks's tries? Pinpoint kick for Atkins to score, I don't particularly like him but credit where it's due.
I agree the players you mentioned played well as did most of the team for that matter.

I didnt think Briers stood out to be honest, but saying that I didnt think King was much good either, tackled easily by Burrow a couple of times, and passed into touch, as well as knocking on for a certain try in the second half

The whole Warrington team played well. Leeds didn't play badly are a superb team and were well beaten.
Briers got MOM but their were plenty of other candidates and all played for Warrington.

Good take on Briers. I did not think that he deserved the Lance Todd Trophy. I thought Mathers and Monaghan had better games.

He always had the ability.
If he had the same attitude he had now earlier in his career he could have been first choice GB half back for a decade.
Credit Tony Smith a good pack and Lee Briers for responding to that.

Whilst the RL journalists may not be classed as 'experts' I think the voting for the Lance Todd was 34-2 in favour of Briers and rightly so in my opinion.  The nine of us in our group plus the Leeds fans around us all agreed that he was MOM by a mile.

Not sure whether its an anti-Wire thing not wanting to give Briers credit but he cant be great every week and at times he has carried the team on his own over the years. I wish we would have had a player like that amongst our midst during the past 10 years.

Anyone who saw Super League Supermen may have had a surprise as he came over as a decent bloke and I know he has recently said that he wishes he had been coached earlier in his career by someone like Tony Smith as he would have been a better player.

He nearly got the Lance Todd last year but thoroughly deserved it last Saturday.
