People I'm intrigued (again)
How do you propose to get rid of something that no-one wants?
If you could answer that question then the world would not have gone into recession.
I must agree I'm not comfortable with someone owning two clubs, but how does he lose his share of London? Resign? What about his money / shares?
To be honest if I was him I'd be saying to the RFL - you want me out you then buy the Quins shares off me and I'll go.
One question and one potential scenario Oz.
1. Why on earth did the RFL break their own rules to allow Lenighan to buy into Wigan while still owning Quins?
That moment is the root cause of this problem. Did the RFL themselves not realise the reason for this clause? How many times have they told us that "there isn't a rule in place to deal with.........." Add your own situation from a long list. (illegal players, cup tied players, etc.)
2. As this is of the RFL's own making, surely they added a proviso into the deal allowing Lenighan to buy Wigan?
Say, for example, that he would forfeit his shares to the RFL if he hadn't sold within the 2 years grace period they allowed him? I can't believe they just left it on a handshake that all would be well.
