I haven't said that it has been ignored.

What did you type this for then? "It shouldn't offer a contact method and then ignore it."

I didnt say MY EMAIL had been ignored.  I said I hadn't recieved a response.

Others have made a similar comment.

Clearly then, that contact method is ignored - or not given priority.

I have nothing else to say on this matter, it was a general question FFS.

I think people are being a bit harsh on Dawn here, she made a simple comment about the club and others have backed her up.

She is one of the most pro-club people on this board, and I don't think I have ever read a post from her that is even slightly critical of the club.

But she has a good point.  Not everyone can contact the club during office hours, so email is the best way for them - but if they arn't getting a response after emailing twice then this may start to annoy fans.

If ever there was a thread that summed up this site, it's this one.

Agree with that and also with what Stanley Leisure said.

Its quiet Simple, The E-mail is there and for many things is better than a phone call for sorting things out. For the item i wanted i doubt i would have gotten someone that could answer my question over the phone.

I will tell you what here is what i asked.

I mailed the club asking if they could arrange either for a signed photograph or Signed Rugby ball from Anthony Thackeray for my 5 year old. I was willing to cover the cost of either the Ball or Photograph if it was possible to arrange for one, had i phoned i very much doubt i would have been given an answer. And its not possible for me to get to Widnes from Bolton during the week. As it is my lad has had his party and the club never got back to me, I wouldnt have minded them saying no, it was only a question but its daft to not get a response. My lad Idolizes Thacks and thats who he tells all his friends he wants to be when he grows up. He still does.

Dont get me wrong, its not life or death it was just a little thing that would have made my lads birthday that little bit more special. The annoying thing is not getting a response of any kind.

Its not a case of having a go at the club at every available opportunity, Its about the club communicating with it's supporters.

I will still be heading down to the game tomorrow as will my little lad, but it does not mean we can not be slightly annoyed about this.

Responding to correspondence, whether snail mail or email, is a basic function of any business and in my opinion Dawn is right to highlight this problem (one that's been mentioned a few times on here before now).

Tony Chambers was a stickler for communication with fans and if a situation like this had arisen when he was in charge you can be sure he would be kicking some backsides.

It gives a poor impression of the club and who knows what potential support or even sponsorship the Vikings might miss out on by not responding to its customers.
