Just had it passed down through the family after everybody else has had a good read! Is it worth the time to read it? I'm not a big reading of autobiographies fan but its Dougie!

Yes it's well worth it.
Very Good.
As you say it is Dougie.

It's a good read - and unlike many so called autobiographies where the ghost writer takes away the character of the subject, it's clear with this book that it is written in Dougie's own words!

It's not very well written, there are a few factual errors and it is a frustratingly short book with dozens of key moments in Doug's career glossed over or just ignored altogether. For what he achieved in the game and his unique character the book should have been three or four times times longer.

Having said that, Doug's personality DOES come across a lot of the time, there are still some good anecdotes in there and as it is the only book there is recording the life and times of this giant of Widnes (and RL) history I would definitely recommend reading it.

Very well worth the read. Saying that, the only bit i can just about remember from the book is the part about us signing Offiah and how the Widnesians couldnt say his name properly.

To coin a Dougie phrase, hope it wasn't a 'damp squid'.
