Apparently, it may not be as clear cut as this makes out.

The club were expected to exit administration at 4pm today - at 2pm, HMRC burst through the door with a winding up order. It seems that an office error meant that they didn't officially declare the period of administration to the tax man. So everything is currently up in the air at the moment. A major male-chicken-up, because the board of directors been planning the whole "go in to admin and buy the club back straight away" process for months.

assuming i lookied up the right company on companies house, it would appear that whitehaven never filed the paperwork to place themselves in administration

http://www.lasttackle.com/news_4406-whitehaven-issued-winding-up-order.html

There is growing uncertainty over the future of Whitehaven, after it was revealed the club was issued with a winding up order on Monday.

According to sources at the club, an error by their administrators resulted in their period of administration not being officially declared to the tax office.

A number of current directors, including chairman Richard Raaz, had planned to buy the club back out of administration, having allowed it to clear the clubs' debts, but this new twist in a long saga left one source labelling it a "major male-chicken-up."

Whitehaven must now reach an agreement with HMRC or face a trip to the high court, where the club could be wound up and cease to exist.

Following news of the possible demise of their club several weeks ago, fans quickly united to discuss the potential of setting up a supporters trust. Trust in Haven are holding a meeting tonight, Wednesday, at 7pm, where the current situation is sure to be a hot topic. Laura Harrison, of Supporters Direct, is currently liaising with the RFL to clarify the club's ongoing situation.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Whitehaven would start next season on minus nine points in Championship 1.

I'm not a financial genius, farrrrrrrrrrrrrr from it, but is the bit I've highlighted 'Haven's fault?

It's a sham mate. Basically, they wanted to clear the debts and carry on, same people etc. Fans not happy.

It is a sham, and it will not help the Cumbrian fans that hoped to see a Super League club established in the area in the near future

I wonder if the RFL would approve a new club and board with Raaz as a director.

I mention this as, when we went into admin and 3 consortiums offered to take the club over/start it again, the RFL seemingly refused to consider two of them as previous directors were involved.

The Purdham game will go ahead, whatever the outcome of the court case.
