Thompson leaves Vikings
Former St Helens forward has left Widnes Vikings with immediate effect.

The prop forward joined the Vikings earlier this year from his hometown Club but failed to hold down a regular place in the first team squad and spent a period on loan at Harlequins RL.

Sporting Director Terry O'Connor said, "Sam asked for a release as he wasn't enjoying his rugby at Widnes and we agreed to his request. On behlaf of everybody at the Club I would like to thank Sam for his efforts during 2009 and wish him well in his future career."

If his heart wasn't in it to play for us there was no reason to keep him.  I wish him well where ever he goes.   Cry
