Having seen Ben Jeffries linked on here maybe of note that the news from Wakeybis that he has been released as well as a big forward in Leano (who may be better suited for us?).

Don't know much about Leaeno, but his picture, height/weight stats and previous clubs listed on his wiki page suggests he'd be ideal for us. Got to admit I do like the old fashioned prop as opposed to the fitter and lighter type we get nowadays. I understand players have to be fitter now, but IMO there still is a place for the 18st+ props and there nothing better in RL than seeing a prop going full pelt knocking players flying. I would imagine Leaeno will get a deal back in Australia, but if he wants to stay here and no SL club want him, I'd take him for sure.

If you heard the comments with the Kiwi v PNG match the  pack that Kearney chose was his lighter and more mobile pack !!!!!! Didn't look stodgy to me!

In truth as a coach you have to look to match the opposition that you are going to meet.  If you don't you are likely to get burned if the weather is against you on match day.Faster, lighter(?) packs tend to duplicate the backs to some degree which can lead to a fast open game, but if ,say, Fev persist with their bruisers they would probably murder bthe lighter squad.

Referees have a part to play imo and they certainly seemed to be happy to allow the 'animal' element (Tonks in particular) get away with pretty much anything.

Possibly the answer is that whatever your choice your pack needs to be well organised, in whichever way you prefer, but you have to impress yourself on the game and make the opposition play to your strengths.  Twas ever thus!

Hence, if we have a faster pack they have to do the business, against a heavier one if necessary.

we cant go with lighter more mobile packs. Look at Wigan Last season. Coley, Ridell, Feilden they are all 17 stone plus. Then you have tomkins and harrison hanson who are near 16 stone with Oloughlin at 15t 16 stone that is a big pack. But very mobile pack.

There is no reason why the pack cant be big and mobile. The kewis had their lightest pack out so far but the props were bothe huge.

Lets get two big agile props that can do the business and lead from the front to give the backs a platform to work off.

No - last 2 weeks they've just rehashed news from the official site.
