maybe its not an automatic red card, but it is in the" misconduct" part of the rules of the game,Foul “throws” 1. (a) A tackler must not make use of any special “holds” or “throws” which are likely to cause injury or use his knees in the tackle. It is permissible for a tackler to bring a player in possession of the ball to the ground by pulling him over the outstretched leg provided he is holding the player with both arms before there is any contact with
the leg.

this as i see it is up to the ref,s common sense, which is where the problem lies, most of them have,nt got any,i was just glad the lad got up,he could have broken his ankle.

It was in the WC final this year.....twice !!!

no a trip is deemed just the same as a high tackle, the ref has to make a judgement on intent etc. from memory the two in the widnes cup final where both red card worthy

I disagree vikinggriff, craigs was a red card but gavs wasnt, a yellow at the most as he tried to grab the player with his hands and missed and tripped him accidently .

Bring on the West Bank and the Maries, bring on the Stanley by the skull, Woolston Rovers and Blackbrook, they all tried there galaxying luck, but they'll never beat the simmies anymore.
