They could make nearly 3million just in gate receipts....... Shocked
last years average att 11200 x 13 home games (at least) x approx 20 quid average price (allowing for kids season tickets etc) = 2.9 million

Don't overlook the fact that this year, out of a £20 ticket price, £3.33 goes to Her Majesty, so your £2.9m ticket sales is really only worth £2.4m to the club.

ok so they still make 2.4m gate receipts (still a good income!)

I've already cancelled. Online banking my friend. Its the future.   What on earth makes you think that someone wouldn't cancel it?

Is this evidence as to how important season ticket funds are during the pre-season for superleague clubs? There is a clear advantage in purchasing these.  These ticket prices seem about right compared to warrington and wigans bar a pound or two.  I would get used to it though as Widnes will not be able to sustain a superleague future without a significant increase of cash coming through on match days.

In support of Superleague ticket prices from my experience the games I have gone to have been worth every penny of the entrance fee!

With VAT at 20% that means it is £4.00p to the tax man.

Very true - but prices approaching £300 for an adult season ticket may not be affordable to many.

Beano I do understand what your saying about season tickets and their costs but they are great value as a rule that is the point and to allow the club a decent cash injection and well I am not going to tell you how to suck eggs.

If we did get to those stages of £300 season tickets then a deal may have to be broke with a finance provider to spread the costs as 2adults and 1child ticket each year I couldnt fork out for!!

I live in St Helens and I have asked the Saints "supporters" I know if they intend to go to Widnes to support their team in 2011. Only 2 have said they will travel and the rest say they are undecided or intend to wait for their new ground to be completed.
I don't know if this is a good cross section, but if it is their crowds will be a lot less than previous years .
