I remember that.  He was only called in at the last minute as another competitor had dropped out.  He came second I believe.
They won't do Superstars these days.  They wouldn't the prima donna football stars to get hurt.  Roll Eyes

The have Australia's Greatest Sportsman over here, its a bit similar although some of the events are a bit girly, some aren't though. Billy Slater won it the first 2 years, he didn't compete last year and Quade Cooper won it (Kurt Gidley was 3rd I think).

Go on your tube Ken and type in BBC Superstars, there are loads of old clips of Brian Jacks and Daley Thompson in the Gym, quality TV  Grin

ESPN CLASSICS often show the Superstars from years ago. I have never seen Eric's appearance on there yet but I have seen Keith Fielding's and a team event with Des Drummond in.

Stuart Wright and Joe Lydon also had a go. I don't think Stuart did very
well apart from the sprint, Eric Hughes had a little dig at him on Radio Merseyside
by saying "When Stuart came back I asked how he went on and he just said pass"

Eric Hughes was beaten in the sprint my Malcolm MacDonald.
