What happened to him???  Last time I saw him in a Widnes shirt was in the 1988/89 season, then he seemed to just disappear without a trace.

Rep for American Golf.

Not sure whether he's still got that nasty gash above his head though.

Dougie blamed him for tripping over an ant with the line at his mercy in the semi against Saints.  Did not play again for us after that season

I might be wrong, but I don't recall Rick playing for anyone after the 88/89 season.

Is that the same one where Richard Eyres got sent off for tripping?

Either way I was in tears. I would have made my dayboo at Wembley.  Cry

Yep, you mean when Ritchie fell on his backside and Holding tripped over his leg when he could do nothing about it.  That was the biggest piece of biased reffing I have ever seen.

Yes it was Ricks "Devon Loch" moment, a certain try or so it seemed to us in the old Douglas Stand. It even looked like he could still get up and get there but agonisingly he didn't make it!

A tragedy in the sense that we were the one side that could have given Wigan a run for their money and never got the chance to do it until we were a bit past our best in 93
