The U23 won 54 - 22.    Tries, I think, from Wakefield, Kinsey, Scott (2), Gore, Houghton, Lunt, Gerrard (2),Willings and Goals 7/9 Jack Reid.

Alex Gerrard scored a hat trick

Thought he played well and the player I usually like Gore did not have a good game.

Under 16's were beaten 04 - 70.

It was awful, and it looks as though the 16's are in a Division too high. The Wigan lads were bigger, stronger, fitter, and faster than their Widnes counterparts.
I take it you haven't seen any of the other U16 games Jack? Wigan were far and away the most organised, well drilled team we've come up against this year, and they've been doing that to everyone else too.  You also have to bear in mind that this years U16's didn't play any competitive fixtures last year - every other teams did - the lads are just starting to gel, whereas everyone else already has 12 months under their belt.

Not necessarily, I'm not trying to give the 16's a hard time, but alot of other U16's teams bear little resembance to the U15's games.  Always alot of changes between those two age groups.  Maybe Widnes just need to look further a field to pick up some more players at this age group, plus the ones that have played this year will learn what they need to do to improve.  Sometimes long term you learn more in these games than the ones you win.
