One of my favourite games ever has got to be 1976 Challenge Cup semi v Fev at Station Road. We were 9 nil down I think and come back to win with Alan Prescott scoring to take us to Wembley. Big let down was the final v Saints!

Was it 89? The game where we played at Wheldon Rd, think they were unbeaten & top of the League. We scored 4 tries in the first 20 minutes, inc a McKenzie cracker. Listened to the first half on the radio, the 2nd half was on BBC.
Ray French asked Murphy "Who can stop this Widnes side? St Helens?" and he smugly replied "Possibility". He was right.
Murphy also said about Koloto, as he rampaged in for another try "I think him, they'll make him the Lord Mayor of Widnes".
Watched that game about 500 times on video!
Totally agreed as a game it was possibly our most sublime performance

When we battered Leeds 36-6 on their own patch in the ice and snow in 92 or 93 can't remember exactly. Left with 5 mins to go to beat the traffic and missed a Stuart Spruce try in the dying seconds. Had to watch it on scrumdown later
37 nil. We were throwing snowballs at John Gallagher when he was stood under the posts again. Then Flymo ran right over the top of him.

No they're not. The current gold price is £28767 per kilo. If you take an average SL centre, say George Carmont, 91 kilos, that works out at £2,617,797. No-ones worth that

Greatest All Black ever eh? We were peppering him all afternoon with high balls (as well as snow balls) and he spilled virtually every single one. You felt for the lad in the end, his confidence was shot.
We were in our pomp then for sure - I remember the score as 0-38.

The CC semi final victory in 93 against Leeds was a great display. especially the 2nd half...39-4 i think we won it all though i could be wrong. We were underdogs that day and financially in a mess. Great to get a win.

Beating Wigan (again) in the Charity Shield on the I o M. Possibly around 1988
Booked for the weekend, caught the ferry from Liverpool on what appeared to be a calm day, but the weather turned horrendous.
Ours was the last ferry allowed into Douglas, anything later was cancelled.
The point of the story is, Glynn Shaw and his party were on the same boat and drank constantly, not causing any bother, just really enjoying themselves.
About an hour from reaching port, they starting to turn a really nice shade of green and threw up for the rest of the journey.
I never went inside because if the bloody heap did a Titanic, I was going to be 1st in the lifeboat.
Got the match ball, got it signed, great game, great weekend, lovely island.

Best performances
1.Hull KR at wembley 1981.
2. World club championship game at Old trafford
3. Beating Bradford in Premiership final (second one) when we won with 12 men fro whole of second half and increased our score with a man short. (Paul Hulme harshly sent of on half time)
4. Beating Hull in Premiership final 1982? at Leeds- with little or no support as most expected another defeat and did not travel.5. Beating the touring Aussies.
Because we played with style in all those games. Wonderful, wonderful memories.
