But is is never 'instant' - the supporters have given him some slack as a youngster to build his game. They are now reaping the benefits.

From what we have seen from DB that is his forte - player development and that is what we have to support.

RL fans are a funny lot. Thurston still divides opinion down here. For me, he's one of the best half-backs I've seen for ages, although the competition is stiff. Especially taking up the Johns mantle. He and Cronk as a partnership will ensure QLD and Aus don't miss a beat in losing Lockyer.
