According to the NCL meeting last week BARLA agreed to the principle of primary and secondary registration. It's the regional leagues that are playing funny buggars. There was a meeting of the community board yesterday where BARLA were to be encouraged to get the regional leagues
to toe the line.  West bank are in the draw for the challenge cup for the first time in our modern history. The 1st round is set for 4/5 Feb but there might be a preliminary round game in Jan.

We will just have to see what '' To toe the line'' means.... i get the impression that when Ron makes a statement he as the backing of BARLA but if not the coins are in the air again...

In regards to bankquay things have changed this year. We have a new ground and facilites, proberly the best side bankquay has ever had. We have 2 sides and have at least 34 plus players @ training so we r moving forward as a club. We r in the national cup and challenge cup which is drawn on mon. I do know pilks have gone to tier 4 with us reason with them pullin out of the national cup. Was told by pilks that clockface, ashton and blackbrook r also moving over so won't be long till the rest follow.

Apparently not only those 4 premier division teams but also 15 from the lower divisions are asking about switching to summer.

There's a rumour that some of the sides staying winter are asking to join the Pennine League. I'm unsure if this is just top sides or if the NWCL is getting scrapped, though if the former that would leave a rump NWCL with maybe 2 divisions and the top division very Barrow centric (I can't see how they could play Pennine League), if the latter they'd have to regionalise lower divisions. This seems strange and I have no idea how advanced these ideas are but these are interesting times.

Just out of interest considering the NCL statement that no further clubs will join Tier 3 for 2 years were will Bank Quay be playing?
The RLC for 2012 (final year) consists of
Warrington Wizards
Bramley Buffaloes
Huddersfield Underbank Rangers
Dewsbury Celtic
Kippax Knights
Coventry Bears
Nottingham Outlaws
Bristol Sonics
Valley Cougars
Hemel Stags
St Albans Centurions

Most of these will form Tier 3 Division 3 in 2013. I hope Bank Quay like travel.

Those are the teams in Conference 3 in 2012, but Conference 3 in 2013 is likely to look different. Coventry, Hemel and Warrington Wizards (as Chester) all have made Championship 1 applications for 2013, as have another Bristol side (plus Oxford and Medway; a Northampton side are already accepted) though Bramley and Warrington Wizards wouldn't be let anywhere near the Conference proper.

The plan is to have 4 divisions of 12, so the new division 3 in 2013 would be the bottom 4 teams from 2012 division 2 plus 4 teams already promised places (Dewsbury Celtic, Nottingham Outlaws, Kippax Knights and Huddersfield Underbank Rangers) and 4 more that are to be announced. The rumour is the NCL's preference is for the latter 4 to be strong heartland sides presumably from the NW Men's League, though I wouldn't rule out Hemel if they miss out on Championship 1. So would be good for someone like Bank Quay or Pilkington Recs if they want in.

The RFL want to form a Conference South though I'm not convinced there'd be enough teams, so not sure where the likes of Bristol, Valley Cougars and St Albans would end up.
