I'm hearing just 12 sides have stuck with the winter game for next season...

That can only really mean a single division, and with the mix of relatives strengths in there I can see some sides folding once the going gets tough and they're taking a pasting every week

Do you know who changed last minute out of the 17? I know Westhoughton did but not sure who else. Or if it's easier do you know the 12?

Apparently the teams haven't been announced yet... got the figure of 12 from a journo at League Weekly

Ah okay we'll find out soon I'm sure. Though if the 12 includes Oldham clubs I'd be surprised if they weren't looking east. Would be suicidal if the Barrow clubs stay winter.

Clubs playing summer wont be allowed to join unless the winter league is prepared to let them start their fixtures late as clubs are forbidden from switching midseason. Though it works both ways so clubs playing winter this year can't join the 2013 summer league if winter collapses.

So the best thing clubs can do is to keep A teams in the winter and play first teams in the summer and if they are not happy with the league they are in just move players around till there commitments are fulfilled with that league.

its not an easy ride for the clubs switching to summer just looking at the prem and the games they still have to play .

Brook 8
Simmies 8
Maries 9
Ashton 11

when they play them they then have to play summer commitments till Nov... big ask but wish them all the best and hope it gos well for them.

any players not wishing to take part in this infoced marthon can always have the summer off and come and join the swans in Sept you would be made most welcome Grin Grin Grin Grin

Not really practical to have first team and reserves in separate seasons.

I disagree insted of the 50 players you have for 1st team and A team now you would have60 players 30 players apeice how meny reserves do you need 13 seems workable...and with a club sec with a shed full of trans/forms well ...dont forget its only temp to see if summer rugby is for them if not..if not the 1st team go's back to winter or on the other hand the A  team go's summer.

Leigh East will have 2 teams in summer and 1 in winter .

Think we should all wait till NWC AGM in August then we will know the numbers..

You need a full squad to play the separate seasons as 6 of 9 months overlap but midseason you'd have no reserve team to call on. Plus too much pressure on volunteers year round.

Leigh East are not your typical club but are bigger. Ovenden and Siddal tried the same and failed and suspect the Cobras sitting out of the interim season was the main reason Mayfield managed.

You can't just change season at the drop of a hat it is virtually impossible after this year of both league truncating their seasons.  what you choose now is your season forever unless lots of clubs agree to change. Why wait for the August AGM when the better season will be well underway by then?

I think your flogging a dead horse here jimbo. I once wrote to jimmy saville to see if he could fix it for me, he never replied to my letter. Obviously he couldn't fix it for me.
