Barrow 30-34 Lions at a cold and windy Craven Park this afternoon.

We scored seven tries to their five, but Morty managed to convert only four of 'em, whilst Scott Kaigan banged over five from five for the hosts, to give the scoreline a closer look than the 80 minutes play merited.

Two touchdowns late on in the first half, gave the Raiders an 18-4 interval lead, but we had most of the second period, to register our first win of the season, albeit it a scrappy one.

Morrison was my m-o-m, but Ashall, who was getting an occasional at start hooker in the absence of Smthy, pushed him very close.

Marks out of ten for my mob? 6 at best I would have thought.

Our next encounter is next Sunday at the HJS, where we take on the Wire u-20s.

It was a Barrow experimental side with Darren Holt resting several of his expected first choice players.
