Wire (Kids) 34-16 Lions yesterday at the HJS.

Their first team might have been thousands of miles away, but the guys who are hoping to become the next Morley, Briers, or Westwood were more than good enough for us.

We never really recovered from them going 12-0 up early doors, and in Brad Dwyer they look to have a real star of the future.

Young they might be, but these lads have a real turn of pace, and we were caught short more than once.

We've no game this weekend, but rest assured I'll be at your gaff as you hit the bit scene for the first time in too long!

See you Friday!

Swinton's a traditional name in the game and don't forget they turned us over at our place when we were masters of the universe and they were, well, some way below us. And some of our old friends play for them now so yes, generally interested to see how they fare TBH.

And because Station Road was one of the grounds I could cycle to when Widnes were too far away.

Where would Widnes be as a club if Naughton Park had been sold over our heads ?   It is Spelly and people like him who have kept RL going at the Swinton club and it is good to see ow they are doing.
