http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16825284.stm

Play was delayed in Everton's meeting with Manchester City at Goodison Park after a spectator invaded the pitch and handcuffed himself to a goalpost.

The man emerged from the crowd before half-time and attached himself to the frame of City keeper Joe Hart's goal.

After a hold-up which resulted in five minutes of first-half stoppage time, he was released and led away by police.

"He was arrested by Merseyside Police, who are now dealing with the matter," Everton said in statement.

"It transpired that the supporter is a known professional protester, allegedly protesting about an airline's recruitment policy.

"Bolt-cutters were used to remove the offender, who was roundly booed as he was escorted from the ground."

Police said that a 46-year-old man from nearby Southport was arrested for pitch encroachment and was being questioned

I am actualy a red but I think this is a very decent signing for Everton although as we all know the EPL is a big step up from the SPL so it will be interesting to see how he fares

Does anybody who saw the Everton game know if the bloke in handcuffs crossed the line?

Could be a stumbling block for Blatter.

Great win last night. And we could have scored more than just the one!

Don't see why Johnson doesn't start for City. Top class player IMO!

Drenthe looks a very tidy player, got a lot of pace! Not afraid to have a dig from outside the box too! Lot of credit to the two H's at the back! Played brilliant. Denis also stood out for me yesterday as he was all over the field, working very hard.

Happy with the signing! Just what we needed tbh!

galaxy off City!!

Football pops.

Caught a few glimpses of the game, whilst watching ours online.

Hibbert eh?

Whats your thoughts on Heitinga? He seems to be a bit of a loose cannon, bit loopy, or is he similar to Bellamy in that respect. We love him, everyone else despises him?

Nudge , Bellamy is the type of player ANY team in the prem would love to have , he was on a mission against City to prove Mancini wrong and boy did he do just that.

Anyway i was reading in the Mirror on Tuesday about him , good read , good footballer and most of all good MAN.

What's happened to their attendances? Less than 29,000 for a game against Man City. Surely this can't be good for them.
