5 prem

2 lge cup

1 fa cup

plus 5 prem games and 1 chp lge game in december

Yes but still 8 games. Good I suppose at this time of year if your still in the domestic cups as games are spread over three comps with the Carling Cup over two legs, replays can also help of course. But if it was March / April could all be league games when your trying to nail down a CL spot or maybe surviving at the bottom.

Footballers do play a lot if games up until Jan / Feb and then it's dictated by cup / Europe runs.

On the 'work' issue elsewhere I think they have to train too... Even if some of them make that hard to believe  Cheesy

Referring to working days point!
Majority of Prem a different story but lower leagues play a he'll of a lot of games and will earn a more 'average' wage.
