hahaha i used to hate this..mrs wiseman 'the witch'

She took us for French back in the 70's, all mini-skirted up and docking platform shoes. Think she was a cockney or certainly had a s/e accent.

Legend
My memory aint that good was the other PE teacher a Mr Behan the one with black hair ?

The dancing was a right laugh used to love it myself ( maybe that was the perv in me ) having a room full of girls in an all boys school was great  Grin

Both Messers Tollit and Behan are in that great Gym in the sky now!

Happy days - funny how you look back at it with affection but, at the time, PE with Tollit was a shocker!

Garth Tollitt was my form tutor for five years... despite the fact that aside from cricket I was bloody hopeless at PE and Games, he was always really encouraging to me.

Best example was while "running" the 1500m and he shouted to me... "I'm timing you with a calendar"  Grin Grin Grin Grin

I can laugh about it now.... the rest of the class laughed about it then  Sad

Hmm...I guess he liked you if you were interested in raggar, But if you weren't it was training with the First XV as a punishment or, worse still in my case (as a serial wagger of raggar), detention and regular physical violence.

Mr Tollit was just about the Best Teacher of Sports ever.................. A total phenomenon of a Bloke.......................Its not a Case of being interested in something or likeing something.................he simply made you play and be as good as you could be. Playing for the Rugby Team for 5 years was the best thing ever, and i still remember it with great pride

When Garth administered the galosher (or a 'Walsh' training shoe with a sole like the top of a Predator boot..available only from Connolly's Sports Shop) he would say;

"Turn East to face Mecca, bow to allah",

then he'd rattle your word til it glowed for a week!

HAPPY memories, not. Only got it once, that taught me. Angry

Yeah, woan is a top lad. Saw him at a Widnes match last year, he is a big Stains fan though. Wierd as he sounds as though he is from leeds/West Yorks. Remember a lad in our year (tunna that played for Widnes) and him seeing who could do the most press ups. Think Charlie just about shaded it. Grin The lad who said that to Bramwell, is still living. Not sure how he managed to talk himself out of a good hiding. I had about 38 form tutors. Started out as Mrs Petch, but she got up the duff about 15 times IIRC, we had Mr O'Brien, the guy that looked like Adam west! he hated us. Ended up in year 10 and 11 with Justin Zani. He sent me into the 'dark room' once as I answered a question without 'sir'. Richard-head  Grin

Bramwell way my form tutor! Wasn't his biggest fan, though in year 11 I was late every day and only received 5 late marks all year. Was a bit of a legend in that respect.

Woan was always up for a laugh. Seen them at a few matches and Wembley finals and still always have a decent chat.

Think I might be the only one to know crichley as he came quite late on but was also a top man. Looked like the Mr incredible ha.

I didn't know Mr. Tollit had deceased (RIP) but he hated me, because my name is Karalius he thought he'd inherited a rugby genius, put me on the team sheet every week. It was only after three-months he realised i'd not inherited the rugby genes...he never forgave me! and made me run around the track every PE lesson because I liked football and not rugby.

you have to laugh...listening to the great roy basnett on wire fm this morning on my way into work he mentioned the horrifying trauma of ball room daning at wade deacon...it was terrifying. roy is a funny bloke...but mr farr and miss simm were really intimidating....thank god i had a girlfriend at 13.....if only for a year. jesus......id rather face anything else than ball room dancing as a teenager

You must have been there with me then, I went through all that aswell.  For my embarressment I can still do the square tango and the gay gordons.  I cannot remember any of the others.  Btw Mr Farr is a big Widnes supporter and sat in the North stand.  Not seen him in a while though !
