Sorry haven't got Sky or seen a replay of the game. This sounds like another load of gimmick Sky spangles. Can anyone let me know what it is. I presume it forecasts the outcome and changes throughout the 80 minutes or am I completely wrong ?
Thats exactly what it is. Takes in stats during the game, as well as the past 700 games between the 2 sides. Its a load of spangles tbh.

Yup, it is "scientific" allegedly and it is based upon how the game is going possession/territory wise (and possibly a few other categories). At one stage in the game it had a team winning by 20 points and 5 mins later after the other team scored they were going to win by 11.

It is a gimic, it is just very very bad, and made even worse by the fact that Eddie is constantly creaming himself over it. John Kear and McCrea both thought it was a pile of cola.

In danger of challenging "Club Call" for the most pointless and worthless gimmick in the sport.

How do we know that Clarkey doesn't just twist the doorhandle (don't you dare...) in favour of the likely winner as the 80 minute mark approaches?

They're having us on big style with this one.

I think Clarke genuinely buys into the scientific analysis of the game

To be fair Eddie Hemmings could barely keep a straight face as he let Phil Clarke keep digging a hole for himself so enthusiastically; MacCrae and Kear (clearly biased but so what) read the game right.

Reckon this one will get an increasingly wide margin as the season progresses.

That made the nonsense of it worth it for me!

You just know in a dark corner some dodgy salesman is tizering himself that Phil Clarke bought into it 100%  Cheesy

Why not call it a momentum meter, get rid of the score aspect and just have it like a swing-o-meter to show who has the advantage at that moment in time?

It'd still be pointless but also slightly less stupid

Why don't the Commentators just call the pass/kick and keep their opinions to themselves.

The score bar and clock in the top left of the screen is all we need.

Are they trying to create a "Duckworth/Lewis" method for RL?

No. D/L, although flawed (Very very flawed in shorter forms of the game) it actually works and gives a realistic (ish) total most of the time. Margin meter is cola, it is like a territory machine that converts that into points, but it doesn't take into account the score at present, when somebody scores or that if 1 team is attacking a line and it gets nothing then it can give the other team a lift, intercepts, lots of other factors.
Terrible gimmick that should be scrapped immediately. Worst thing is Eddie, "Is it going to be right on the 1st night we use it?" They have at least half a dozen guesses on it throughout the match and I still think it has got nowhere near in the 1st couple of matches.

As regards the clock, one gripe I've always had is that it's shown on the big screen at the ground, and the players are well aware of the time left, yet in all other games they're not.

Would Chris Joynt have "died" at OT if the clock had been hidden? I think not.

OK, it's great for the fans of the winning team to count down "10, 9, 8, etc" at the end of the match, but (personally) I reckon the time should be shown only to the viewers, and not those at the ground.

For me it should be at all games or none, likewise with the big screen and video ref.
