Betts must go
Logged

No they're not. The current gold price is £28767 per kilo. If you take an average SL centre, say George Carmont, 91 kilos, that works out at  £2,617,797. No-ones worth that

I wouldn't go that far but the same problems are apparent again, defence (or lack of) being the main one

How is that Betts fault? Huh Roll Eyes Undecided

He doesnt make any high shots, rip the ball out or flop. Not to mention back chat to the ref. Get a grip

I though we did ok. Lack creativity but that's we're we miss Watts. Also I hope the indiscipline shown from Cross, Isa and Moore is just because of the high emotion.

On the whole more positives than negatives. Craven, Allen both did well. Also key players to come back.

Not really sure its a night for criticism, I for one am just glad to see them back in the big leagues, it took a long time to get there and we aint gonna run teams ragged from the off...yes we should be taking points from them, but think tonight was all about the occasion.

Well played Boys, onwards and upwards

Just how big is Winterstein, he is massive. The defence early on was pretty good as was the commitment n enthusiasm but penalties cost them. No ball in the 2nd half at all so they were bound to concede points eventually

Hanbury and Moore - Cant pass wont pass.

All our backs played quite well but without Watts we have no clue or guile. Wakefields stand off was brilliant at times. Cross was great for 1st 20 mins. Most of the forwards ran well but Picks and Haggs just not up to it at this level. Craven probably MOM for me.

Oh, and we need a goal kicker.

People should maybe sleep on this before making comment.

Everyone expected to win tonight, me included. It didn't happen because they were the better side on the night.

We were winning at the 60min-ish, but discipline cost us.

Pops is off to bed, work int morning

Goodnight

I thought we did quite well in the first half. But even then I thought the writing was on the wall. They totally out played us attack wise & had many more options & only for bombing 2 clear cut chances they could've & should've went into the sheds with a HT lead. In the end I thought we were quite fortunate that they didn't put 50 on us. If Wakey are apparently the weakest team in the league I feel my worst fears are going to come to fruition. If we can't beat or hold the weakest team to less than 2 scores at home, we're going to struggle to win any games at all.

lucky it was Wakefield, or it could of been a cricket score second half.
Sorry, but never saw anything from Betts coaching last year to think he'd be better in Super League this year. Hope he proves me wrong, but can't help feeling we could do with a proven, at top level, coach.

To be fair that is a pessimistic take on things, yes they bombed a few but so did widnes. Craven getting the bouncing ball n not passing in the 1st half and the chip/kick throughs were it bounced the wrong way when a Widnes play was in prime position to score was unlucky. Video ref calls were close as well. Personally I wouldn't have given the Widnes 1 but equally I wouldn't have given the Wakey 1 early in 2nd half either.

As expected a few positives and a few things to work on. Not sure of the final stats in the 2nd half but you cant give away so much ball and be expected to win a game. it was about 75% Wakey for the 1st 30 mins of the 2nd half, they will never win games with that stat!
