a load of
spangles
why do they need to move,
the atmosphere in the nw corner was great
.
I suspect that's the point JS is making Glynn... to make that atmosphere spread a bit really needs the creative minds behind the singing etc to have a more central position

I thought the atmosphere in the NWC was really promising, few new/old faces there but that is to be expected. The goonage after our last try was brilliant. Not seen anything like that at a Widnes match in years. But what dissapointed me the most, was the scores of chemics just doing one after 70 minutes. Even one or two boos (not widespread obv) at the hooter. FFS
Watching it back, you can't really make out any atmosphere, which is a shame, as folk tuning in will have just assumed our fans are
spanglese
, but wasn't really the case IMO.

Please, don't shoot the messenger. I overheard somebody behind me say "There's a few more in the kiddies corner tonight".
It was said so seriously, it made me smile.Well we were all in a good mood at the time.

I think the boos were directed at the officials - I turned to look at who on earth could be being booed and saw them just about to enter the tunnel.

Ah yeah, maybe! hadn't thought of that. Amuses me that Widnes fans seem extremely happy to make themselves heard when crying over a poor decision, yet the majority cba actually getting behind the lads.

The crew in the North West corner make an effort, but they need to have the balls to move into the middle of the North Stand if they want to encourage more fans to join in. If a corner is so important to them, then the
North East would be a more sensible option as it allows banter with the away support
.
Which is why it all started in the North West in the first place!

Thought the atmosphere was good for first half, then definitely droppeed off in the second, naturally due to the scoreline! The NW corner were awesome last night and a few people could take note of how passionate they are about supporting the bloody team not like a lot of the whingers who walked out at 65 mins booing calling the team all kinds. With regard to the drummers, give them a break, at least they try! I bet nobody was moaning at the NRC final when they and the singers were giving their all to cheer the team on what proved to be the day we qualified for SL

They need to knock the singing about wire on the head though, unless of course we are playing wire!

Thought the atmosphere was pants TBH. Loads doing the Wigan Walk once they knew we couldn't win. These are probably the people who haven't been near the place for 6 years and won't be back in a hurry.

I was one of them that left early. My 6 year old freezing stiff despite 3 layers on and a usual bed time of 7.30pm yet I get abuse from widnes fans in the south stand for leaving 'early' !!!!! and not clapping them off. I saw Brian O ' Connor outside before the final whistle so it was not just speccy's but paid employees that could not bear to watch the dross served up in the 2nd half.

atmosphere = PANTS
entertainment........PANTS
performance...................PANTS
Many people would have been attending their first game in seven years.....many of the others would n't have recognized many of the widnes players...............who applauded the crowd.
Acceptance is difficult, and our greats were sometimes not recognized on a global scale- phil cantillon perhaps springs to mind
atmospher, and loyalty and team spirit and the worthiness to wear the shirt will take some time

Excellent post mate. As you say, it did seem a lot better in the first, as much as I don't agree with this myself, suppose it will tail off if we are conceding or under the cosh. But to me, when the lads are in this position, and backs to the walls and under pressure, isn't that when they need our support the most?
Does my wick in at the rugby, as I pointed out last night, how many are willing to sit there and berate the players, officials and opposition team etc, in the way of shouting vitriolic nonsense yet won't offer any actual vocal support and get behind our team? The corner was, as you say pretty good on Friday, but lets be honest when we playing London, Salford and Cas at home on a Sunday afternoon, it will be like a morgue as per. Friday had the 'we're back factor' and probably will be as good as it gets all year, certainly in terms of vocal backing and numbers! Hope I am wrong mind.
