I did say this may happen on the I-Pitch & signed high for it. I spoke another amateur lad tonight all be-it a thirteen year old who in the scholarship thingy & he said it was a bag of spanglese. He everytime he slid on it little balck stones became embedded in his hands & knees. He dad just laughed & said it's RL you Miaow get on with it.

Richie Mathers has just told Lee Briers on twitter that it is worse than any amateur pitch he has ever played on ....... well Richie you are of course a superstar and shouldnt have to worry about cuts and bruised. Amateur players put up with more than a few grazes week in week out......grow up !

And Scott Moore also has negative views on the pitch. Can the rugby league ask us to relay it to turf?

Jamie Peacock jumping on the band wagon.......rapidly losing respect for some of these players...
''Why didn't we? Take the 750k from Betfair. Spend 400k on advertising on 200 black cabs. Leaving 350k for knee/elbow pads for the i/pitch..''

They might have more justification to complain about ringing in their ears after the number of high shots we inflicted. Its annoying though that Dave Allen was on the receiving end of the first high shot of the night that was completely ignored.
Hopefully the pitch didn't cause any problems, the only difference I noticed from the stands was that the ball held up on it more than last seasons pitch when it was kicked through.

The RFL sanctioned it so I doubt they could

Lets be honest, the state of some of the players elbows was shocking.. Scottt Moore looked like he'd taken a lot of skin off... For me the money would have been better spent on a new pitch with undersoil heating ( n then it can be used all year round) and if mr oconnor want to run a 5 a side pitch by a plot of land somewhere and rent it out......

It may be part of his masterplan to get a Football team up & running. A La Dave Whelan at Wigan.

The galpharm stadium huddersfield Is 30 percent artificial. If people are moaning About the ipitch cuts and scrapes you should see the cuts you get on that pitch. Summer rugby is alway full of burns and cuts. Vaz up and stop moaning.

When they were losing .. Didnt seem to bother them second half did it .. If the game had been at Wakey, it couldn't have been played due to a potential frozen pitch. During the summer when the pitches are rock hard, it doesn't do any more damage than our pitch. I'm not extolling the virtues of not having grass, just trying to provide a balance to the discussion.

Richard Agar doesn't appear to be too bothered about it so it doesn't look as though they will complain - The synthetic surface was a talking point with the bouncing catching some players out and others cutting themselves, but Agar wanted to reserve judgement. He said: "I am not going to knock anyone at this point, one game is early to judge. I can see the massive positives it brings to the club. "We have got some cut knees but you can get cut knees in rock-hard conditions in the middle of summer. I am sure the boys are tough enough to live with that. "There were a couple of times it looked difficult underfoot but the conditions might have played a part. "I don't know how it would play when it is hot and not dewy like tonight. The jury's out - let's all give it a chance." http://www.sportinglife.com/rugbyleague/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=rleague/12/02/03/RUGBYL_Widnes_Quotes.html&BID=480
