Im not sure they should be airing their views in a public forum like that? Bad enough that players were "tweeting" how bad it was.

Also, what goes on at half time? Has anybody noticed one of our players was tweeing during the half time break...mind on the prize boys please!!

Let's not go overboard on the pitch just yet, last nights game was played in extreme conditions which may have changed how the pitch played. If indeed after a season, players are getting injured on the surface the club\SOC will have to dig it up and revert to a normal grass pitch. If it starts to hinder recruitment of players because they don't want to play on this type of surface every other week SOC will have to admit it was a very expensive idea-gamble that didn't come off.As I said at the start of the post last night were very extreme conditions.

I feel this pitch will be a spectacular own goal...just my opinion, if clubs comes here win, lose or draw and are making a fuss of it eventually this will only serve to put the doubts in the minds of our own players, only one game played granted, but not the start the club would have wanted, but it was always going to be controversial this surface.

No matter how much you try, you can never replicate a real match.

The team have played two full contact matches on it, against our own u20's.

Maybe players should wear a vest to prevent burns on the arms.Seems like a bad decision the pitch to be honest. Will it be better in the summer and less bristle, as not seen it myself.

How would it be better in summer? They can't cut it, plastic doesn't grow back

No they're not. The current gold price is £28767 per kilo. If you take an average SL centre, say George Carmont, 91 kilos, that works out at  £2,617,797. No-ones worth that

plus it has been said they have been using a similar surface throughout pre-season.

Lets see how it is in normal conditions.

Doesn't a frozen pitch graze the elbows?

A frozen pitch does but then a frozen pitch wouldnt have been played on...pretty sure if its sanctioned by the RFL, then for this season its fine, maybe the plastic is "harder" in the winter and softer in the summer, only time will tell?
