Hello, how things ?
I see how it would be iritating to me if I wanted to do something about it or if it was a topic of importance but I don't and it isn't.
I was expressing an opinion and in the grand scale of things it is roughly on a par with my opinion as to who the Queensland Reds should play in the coming Super 15s given quade Cooper is out with a damaged knee.
Perhaps it was a bit hypocritical of me to express an opinion that I'm not willing to see pursued thoguh the judicial system ? Could well be the case (after all I'm only human) but I'll leave that to the experts in the field

Neither is Terry.
I also don't get it with 'Arry - jovial cockney cove that he is - he should be in jail. He's been dodgy for years (the move back to Portsmouth from Southampton and the rapid fall in betting odds just prior to the announcement comes immediately to mind). Yet he is strong favourite for the england job (should be an interesting conversation with Levy !!). Interesting what actually qualifies for bringing the game into disrepute these days !!
Very simplistic view you have on this subject John...., wheeler dealer therefore he is dodgy/guilty..

That's definitely true.

Really - you sure it isn't your assumption that isn't simplistic ? I knew a couple of lads when I worked down in Portsmouth (between 1990 and 1996) - one was a colleague through business who, at the time, was on the board at Bournemouth and knew Harry very well. The other was someone who worked at Portsmouth on the backroom staff. Both of them had first hand experience of the lovable cockney. It is an opinoion based on conversations with people who had actually worked in close proximity with Harry. I don't know him personally but my (informed) opinion is that he is dodgy. As I said I may be wrong and I repeat - it really doesn't matter at all if I am.
Now I understand that you are willing to take issue every time I write anything - and that is fair enough - mostly it's quite funny. However it does tend to get tiresome when you actually start making assumptions. So I guess in this case it would have to be a case of 'sit down and be quiet cos you really have no idea what you are talking about'.

Why didn't you just explain that in your post then and back up your views as opposed to writing what looked like an assumption on your part?

Because if everybody wrote down how they arrived at their opinions rather than what there opinions actually are the board would be even more bizarre than it actually is.

This isn't evidence Johnf it's hearsay. I for one should know over my comments about the ownership of Widnes. I was told by somebody close to the Council that S O'C doesn't own the club & got signed high on here for my allegations. As I have no documentation proving this & somebody produced a document showing the sale of Widnes to S O'C on a previous thread I've had to accept I maybe wrong with my assumption. The same goes for you unless you have the proof that 'Arry is bad you shouldn't say it.
As for the Capello resigning wasn't he the most successful England manager ever if you go on wins to losses ratio etc. Also aren't England in there highest FIFA ranking for many a year. If so he couldn't have been that bad a manager. Maybe the reason England don't do so well in the big tournaments is because they're not good enough. Has anybody thought of that.
As for the John Terry thing. IMHO I think it's another case of PC gone mad again. I'm not saying he's innocent or guilty. But TBF he's obviously clashed with Ferdinand & they've had words. Things get said in the heat of the moment & Terry has said the wrong thing. It happens it's industrial language. Terry should've just simply said sorry about before you know I didn't mean it, when they shook hands after the final whistle& it probably wouldn't have come to this. Again it's going to be money wasted going to court to prove what? John Terry is racist. He maybe guilty of saying something racist in the heat of the moment. But a racist I don't think this is the case.

This post was about Arry and if he was guilty.
You said "Harry has always been dodgy for years, & should be in jail, think of the betting odds scandal" (which has happened loads of times before and then that person not become manager btw). Some people will agree with that, others disagree but simply stating that he should be in jail is libellous & is an opinion, not a fact!
As for Capello the guy stood up for his principles. The FA undermined him and his authority, I could understand it more (not sayin I agree with it) if they said " You can't pick Terry because he will split the dressing room" but to say he can go, but can't be captain is IMO ridiculous.
Rickp, you can't just dismiss something said in the heat of the moment IF it was the alleged comments. If they were giving as good as they got in every day insults then yes,
spangles
happens. If he did refer to him in racist terms then I think he said it because he knew exactly what he was doing and the reaction it would provoke.
